Our Curriculum offers:

TLRS Level 1:
beginning to Blend
This Little Readers Society course offers a 6-week multi-sensory experience to teach and explore letter sounds through fun and engaging hands-on activities.
This course is designed to set your beginner reader up for success by establishing a strong letter sound foundation while introducing them to effective sound mapping and blending stratgeies as they transition to reading. They will focus on letter sounds, rhyming and phonological awareness. These lessons are designed to build confidence in emerging readers in a fun and accessible way.
TLRS Level 2:
CVC Foundations (JK/SK/Gr.1)
This Little Readers Society course offers a 6-week multi-sensory CVC (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant) experience for children ages 4-6! This engaging program will help young learners develop essential reading skills through fun, hands-on activities.
With interactive methods like games, storytelling, and sensory play, children will focus on the foundational short vowel sounds. This course teaches effective strategies to get your child reading and writing 3 letter words (CVCs) with confidence and fluency.
A perfect course for those who have good letter sound knowledge and are looking to begin reading writing 3 letter words or for those who need to increase fluency (ease and speed of reading) in these areas. Join us and instil a love for literacy in your child from an early age!
TLRS Level 3:
DIGRAPHS + MAGIC E
Unlock the power of reading with The Little Readers Society 6 week course on Mastering Digraphs and Magic E Phonics Skills!
This engaging and multisensory program is designed for young learners who are confidently reading CVC (3 letter words) and are ready to take their reading to the next level!
An experienced Early Childhood Educator from Kids Ko. Childcare will guide your child through fun, hands-on activities with focused instruction, that will explore the world of digraphs—pairs of letters that create unique sounds—and the Magic E rule, which transforms short vowels into long vowel sounds. This course provides a fun, supportive environment to practice and master these key literacy concepts!
TLRS INtervention
back to basics (Gr. 1 , 2, 3)
We welcome your child to their first book club experience. We are offering a one-of-a-kind book club designed to ignite a love for reading while building fluency and confidence among young readers. In this engaging course, students will journey through a carefully selected novel, fostering connections with peers as they explore the text together.
Each week, we’ll gather to read portions of the book, followed by fun “homework” assignments that encourage independent reading at home.
To deepen comprehension and enhance writing skills, meetings will be enriched with interactive extension including crafts, writing and games.
Students will receive a personalized journal to capture their thoughts, connections, and reflections after each chapter, encouraging deeper engagement with the story.
Additionally, our program incorporates targeted phonics instruction, focusing specifically on those tricky vowel teams that often challenge young readers.
The Little Book Club Society is not just about reading—it's about cultivating a vibrant community of book lovers who share their thoughts, experiences, and joy for storytelling. Join us in this exciting adventure and watch your child's reading skills flourish.
Book club cost includes the purchase of a book and a custom Comprehension Guide.
This Reader's Book Club is designed for early readers ages 6-10 year olds who are looking for an enrichment opportunity to take their reading to the next level. In this club, students will focus on improving reading fluency, speed, and comprehension while building strategies that deepen their understanding of texts. Before registering, please have your child read the excerpt below. We want to ensure that students are working within their "zone of proximal development," where the text is neither too easy nor too difficult, but offers the perfect level of challenge to help them grow.
TLRS: Book Club
This Little Readers Society course offers a 6-week review of foundational literacy concepts targeting phonics review in the following areas: short vowel CVC words, digraphs, the magic E rule and blends. Additionally, students will learn and practice effective phonological awareness, specifically sound mapping skills, to increase confidence with both blending and spelling.
This course is perfect for Grade 1, 2 and 3 students who are struggling on their reading journey and need to revisit the basics to improve their literacy foundation. Additionally, it could be helpful for those students looking to keep up with their literacy skills over the summer months with review!
This course explores concepts in fun and engaging ways that emphasize movement, games and multi-sensory activities making it accessible for all learning styles.
